So my kid LOVES the Nintendo Wii. Why wouldn't he? I may have loaded emulators on it and made it really easy to play over 80+ games.
So what is the problem you may ask? Well, our Wii is the living room, so when he wants to play, ya he uses the big TV. So I was on a mission.
I had found RetroPie and EmulationStation tutorials before but thought eh, how could could it really be? I've always had issues with Emulators and Roms. Well let me tell you. After buying all the components ($75) and following directions and making adjustments, it is freaking awesome!
When you turn on Pi, it boots straight into a menu that is easy to use with controller. There is a scraper which automatically looks at your ROMS and gets the Cover and description. I mean come on! This thing should be in every household it is so good.
I was going to post exactly how I did, but the best way is to go to RetroPie and EmulationStation repos themselves and find the latest stuff. within a month there were differences between the tutorial i had found and latest repo.
Also if you need ROMS, search for complete collections. There is one someone did for the Wii that is great. It just all the regular versions, no tweaks or hacked versions and the scraper seems to find most of the covers.
Love to hear any feedback if anyone is out there...
